Protecting Your Most Valuable Asset | Small Business Development Center

Event Date:
Tuesday, October 16, 2018 - 8:30am to 9:30am
Location:
Iacocca Hall B013
When most small business owners think of intellectual property (IP), they visualize costly attorney fees for something that only benefits big corporations. In reality, the most valuable asset a small business owner or entrepreneur owns are their ideas and their brand. The internet has intensified competition in the market and made many small businesses susceptible to infringement and fraud. Presented by a local IP attorney, this one-hour seminar will focus on IP concerns and how small business owners can utilize trademarks, trade dress, and copyrights to protect their assets and avoid infringements. The discussion will include real world examples and an opportunity to ask questions. Attorney Jack Gross provides legal counsel on copyright, trademark, and licensing matters for businesses of all sizes. He also provides advice on general business matters including business formation, purchase, sale, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial real estate. Jack frequently assists business owners in designing their business succession plans, including considerations for business assets, IP, real estate, and tax goals.
